Our Story
& Approach

Pivot Behavioral Health (PBH) was founded in 2021 by Brea Di Dato, MSN, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC, who carries more than 20 years in experience healthcare across oncology, cardiac, and critical care, as well as family and community medicine.

Throughout her career, Brea witnessed the same pattern repeat: systems designed to treat disease often overlooked the person living within it. She saw how physical health was impossible to sustain without addressing mental health, trauma, and the social realities shaping each person’s life. The system was treating symptoms, not people, and true wellness requires integration.

After completing her post-master’s in psychiatry—and experiencing her own diagnosis of Type 1 diabetes—Brea founded Pivot Behavioral Health to bridge the divide between medical and mental healthcare. PBH was built to challenge the outdated, symptom-based model of psychiatry that prescribes in isolation and sees clients only every few months.

At PBH, we do things differently. We provide consistent, accessible, and deeply collaborative care, working side by side with clients and their care teams to ensure every voice is heard and every aspect of wellness is supported. Our approach is holistic and person-centered—rooted in body autonomy, inclusion, and respect for lived experience.

Because of these values, all PBH clinicians are trained in HAES, LGBTQIA+ affirming care, ACT, postpartum and perinatal mental health, neurodiverse specialties (including ADHD and PDA), and trauma-informed practice.

We believe healing begins with connection, not just between client and clinician, but between the mind, body, and environment that shape our lives.

Pivot Behavioral Health exists to end fragmented care and create space for real transformation. At PBH, we believe in treating the whole person, not just the diagnosis.
Pivot Behavioral Health.
Shifting Minds. Transforming Lives.
